Officers

Andrew Pojman, EdD, president, joined the board in February 2011. He has been a psychologist in private practice since 1979. He also provides forensic evaluations for the Contra Costa County Juvenile and Adult Court, as well as private attorneys. In addition, he trains mental health professionals employed by the Contra Costa County Mental Health Department, and is an adjunct professor of psychology in the John F. Kennedy University Graduate School of Professional Psychology and the Wright Institute. He’s a former president of the board of the Contra Costa County Psychologist Association, has presented multiple times at the conferences of the American Psychological Association, and has written numerous articles in trade publications on child and adolescent psychotherapy. Residence: Walnut Creek.

Bonnie Glatzer, vice president, joined the board in 2014. Bonnie attended State University of New York at Binghamton and Boston University School of Law and earned her JD graduating cum laude. Bonnie has been recognized as a “Super Lawyer” by the publishers of the Northern California Super Lawyers magazine since 2006. Inclusion in Super Lawyers is based on a peer-review survey. She is a partner in the Labor & Employment group at Nixon Peabody in San Francisco. Residence: Moraga.

Stephen Cairns, treasurer, joined the board in September 2009. He’s vice president of internal audit and compliance at Pacific Gas and Electric Company in San Francisco. Formerly he worked for Scottish Power in England and in the United States, as well as at Ernst & Young. He’s a Chartered Accountant, the British equivalent of a CPA. Residence: Walnut Creek.

Margaret (Peg) Toralti, secretary, joined the board in 2014. Peg has been a project manager in the financial industry for 18 years and has worked for Providian Financial and Nissan Motor Acceptance. Currently, Peg is employed by Wells Fargo and her project work concentrates on Interactive Voice Response (IVR) systems. She has operational management experience encompassing general accounting and collections. Peg co-chairs the Wells Fargo Innovation Club Events Committee. She has a BS from West Chester University of Pennsylvania, is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) by the Project Management Institute (PMI), and has Six Sigma Certification from Wells Fargo. Residence: Clayton.

At Large

Angela Peluso joined the board in 2016. She is a MBA who currently works for Mechanics Bank in the capacity of Vice President, Sr. Project Manager. Prior to joining Mechanics Bank, her career was built with Bank of America and later expanded to other companies such as the iconic Levis Strauss & Co. Since 2010, she has been a member of the School of Economics & Business Administration Alumni Council at Saint Mary’s College of California, where she earned her MBA in Executive Management and BA with Honors in Business Management. She also holds an AS with Honors in Accounting. Residence: East Contra Costa County

Jachyn Davis joined the board in 2015. Jachyn works for the Office of the County Counsel in Contra Costa County where she has been a Deputy County Counsel since September 2008. The County Counsel’s Office serves as the civil legal advisor for the County. Jachyn’s practice has been concentrated in the areas of labor and employment law. Jachyn graduated from University of California at San Diego with a double major in Political Science and American History. She attended Boston College Law School and graduated with a JD. Residence: Walnut Creek.

Jenn Weise joined the board in June 2015. Jenn is a 20 year Physician Assistant and is currently employed at Muir Diablo Occupational Medicine in Walnut Creek. She holds certifications with the National Commission of Physician Assistants and is certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support. Jenn has worked for many years in emergency departments throughout Northern California and has served as a member on a local day care Board of Directors. Residence: Walnut Creek.

Linda Del Matto joined the board in 2014. She is a CPA, with previous positions including Associate at Palazzolo & Associates, Controller of Xtra International Ltd., and Audit Manager at KPMG. Linda began her work as a volunteer on our crisis lines in 2011 before joining the board. Residence: Alamo.

Rob Park joined the board in 2016. He is a psychologist who has worked at Kaiser Permanente since 2003. His experiences include working with children, adolescents, and families throughout Contra Costa County. He graduated with a BA from UC Davis, and earned his Doctorate in Psychology (PsyD) from the California School of Professional Psychology. Residence: Walnut Creek

 

 

Affiliates

Dan Ashley joined the board of directors as an affiliate in May 2011. He is co-anchor of ABC7 News at 5, 6, 9, and 11 p.m. weekdays and has received numerous awards for his work, including an Emmy for the most outstanding single news broadcast in a large market, the DuPont Columbia Award, and the Edward R. Murrow Award. Prior to joining ABC7 in 1995, he was an investigative reporter and news anchor at ABC affiliates in North Carolina. Residence: Walnut Creek.

Mike Rekasis re-joined the board in 2014. Mike served for many years on the Crisis Center board including 2 terms as its president. He has continuously served in a volunteer capacity from 1997 – current as both a volunteer on the crisis lines, a grief volunteer and as a long standing member on our Finance Committee wherein he was instrumental in establishing critical financial policies. In 2012, Mike was awarded the Crisis Center’s Rosemary Caldwell Award – for outstanding volunteer of the year. Residence: Walnut Creek.
