Share the Spirit Grant Making Project

Welcome to Share the Spirit 2017!

The Contra Costa Crisis Center and the Bay Area News Group have partnered to bring the Share the Spirit nonprofit grant making project to Alameda and Contra Costa Counties this holiday season 2017.

The goal of the Share the Spirit is to enhance the winter season (November – January) for those residents in Alameda and Contra Costa who are in greatest need by helping to fund local non-profit holiday programs and seasonal outreach.

2017 Share the Spirit Calendar/Grant Due Dates

July 1- 31, 2017 – Please note: Grant Application and Media Training – The in-person training requirement has been eliminated for 2017. Program information is provided here: Share the Spirit 2017 Program Overview and Share the Spirit 2017 Grant Parameters. Applicants should review overview and parameters thoroughly before applying.

August 1, 2017 – Grant Application Portal opens

Link to application will be available here Tuesday, August 1st, 2017 at 10am.

Note: a fixed number of applications will be accepted for review. The link to the application will remain open until  the maximum is reached or the portal close date, whichever is first. Apply early!

August 31, 2017, 12:00 p.m. – Grant Application Portal closes

October 6, 2017 – Funds distributed/Grantees notified

October 2017 – Grantees selected for story publication

November 2017 – January 2018 – Share the Spirit features published in East Bay Times

February 9, 2018 – by 12:00 p.m. (noon)– Post-Grant Reports due

Digital versions accepted. Postmarks not accepted.
