Getting support
Do I need to be in immediate danger to ask for help?
No. You can reach out when you are overwhelmed, in emotional distress, or unsure what to do next. You can also ask for guidance when you are worried about someone else.
How are 211, 988, and 911 different?
211 helps you find local health and social services, such as food, housing, and utility assistance. 988 offers support for emotional distress, mental health or substance use crises, and thoughts of suicide. Call 911 when someone’s life or safety is in immediate danger.
What happens when I contact the Crisis Center?
A trained counselor or resource specialist will listen, help understand what you need, and explore support or next steps with you. The conversation depends on the service you contact and your situation.
Does support cost anything?
The Crisis Center provides free crisis support and resource navigation. Organizations you are referred to may have their own fees and eligibility requirements.
Where can I learn about privacy?
Read our Privacy and Terms & Conditions page for information about privacy practices. You can also ask the service you contact how your information is handled.
Can I use the website contact form for urgent help?
Use the immediate-support options in the navigation when you need help now. The website contact form and administrative email are for general inquiries and are not a substitute for immediate support.
