We’re Still Here.
988 is not shutting down. Contra Costa Crisis Center remains proud to be a crisis center in the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline Network. Despite recent confusion and viral misinformation, the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline remains fully operational, providing free, confidential support to people across the U.S. 24/7.
LGBTQ+ youth callers can still press 3 when connecting to 988 to reach affirming, specialized support—though proposed federal funding cuts put these critical services at risk. In these times, we believe advocacy matters and suicide prevention should never be a political issue.
If you need to talk, the 988 Lifeline is here. At the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, we understand that life’s challenges can sometimes be difficult. Whether you’re facing mental health struggles, emotional distress, alcohol, or drug use concerns, or just need someone to talk to, our caring counselors are here for you. You are not alone.
When you need help, call or text 988.
